University Scholarship & Financial Support - 2009-10
Financial assistance is available to students taking university courses from the University of Winnipeg and Campus Manitoba at the Eastman Education Centre (EEC) in the 2009-10 academic year.
Scholarship Program
To be eligible for a scholarship, the student must be graduating from one of the following schools in June 2009:
- Green Valley School
- Institut Collegial St. Pierre
- Landmark Collegiate
- Lorette Collegiate
- Niverville Collegiate
- Roseau Valley School
- Ross L. Gray School
- Ste. Anne Collegiate
- Shevchenko School
- Steinbach Regional Secondary School
In addition, the student must begin studies in the fall of 2009, must take at least 12 credit hours of university courses at EEC from the University of Winnipeg and/or Campus Manitoba in the 2009-10 academic year, and must meet the entrance requirements of their chosen university.
Each high school listed above will be provided with one $500 scholarship. The Steinbach Regional Secondary School will be provided with three scholarships because of the size of its graduating class. Students will be chosen by the scholarship committee of each school according to its own criteria and selection process. If there is no suitable candidate in a school, the funds will be used by EEC to provide other financial support to EEC students in 2009-10. Students will receive their scholarship once they have registered and have begun classes at EEC in September 2009.
Financial support
A financial grant of 33% of the cost of tuition is available for any university course taken at EEC from the University of Winnipeg or Campus Manitoba in the 2009-10 academic year. No minimum number of courses is required, and every university course taken is eligible for this grant. Winners of the scholarships described above may also receive this grant, provided that the total funds received do not exceed the cost of tuition. The grant applies to tuition fees only and not to any other fees. It does not apply to courses being audited. The grants will be paid once the voluntary withdrawal date for each university course is past.
